has anyone do any soft soldering on any of the chinese radiators being so thin I was wondering if a leak around the fill neck I should just leave alone.do not want to get a tank leak to chase.I believe I do not have any pressure issues that caused this fill neck leak.
I had to do some soft-solder reinforcing on my radiator, not a problem if you get it clean and bright. But I agree with Tommy, if you are inexperienced at this just take it to a radiator shop.
Also, I would install a coolant recovery system – it will keep air purged from your cooling system, which should be air tight.
Take it to a radiator shop. I didnt have much luck fixing mine and actually made it worse. I took it to a radiator shop and for $80 they rebuilt the whole fill neck/top part of the radiator and pressure tested it sealing one leak. But like the other guys say, if your confident in soldering go for it.
