I have a terraplane with TY 395I engine. The power sterring is not functioning properly. It turns easy but when it is turned all the way the wheels turn back about quarter of a turn. So when I turn I have to keep turning the wheel to turn. My question is could this be the pump or the steering cylinder at the wheel. Is there a check valve some were in the system. It is bleeding off some how. Any help would be appreciated.  thans Ken

Sounds like your steering cylinder is bypassing internaly and needs to be rebuilt

Yes we can do it, if you want to ship the cylinder to us, but by the time you pay us our shop rate labor $ 70.00 x 2 hours, and the kit, shipping both ways you may want to just get a new cylinder.Think about it, we will help you either way

That would be my 1st guess as well …… steering cylinder by-passing.

We have had some customers take the re-build kit and cyl to there local rebuilder.

I had a similar problem with my 07 Jinma, 254. I have two pumps, one for the power steering and one for the TPH and FEL on my model. After some troubleshooting, I found the pump and cylinder were good. The pump was not turning. Little ridges inside the shaft had worn off and would not turn the pump drive shaft. Ronald at Ranch Hand tried his best to find me a new gear/shaft with no luck and then attempted to get one make for me and again could not find a machine shop that could or would make a new shaft.

I have since found a shop locally that will make me a new shaft with a slight modification. The price is high, but I still feel it is reasonable. I took it into a shop on 9 Jun 11 and they told me it would be ready next Monday, 13 Jun 11.

I hope, you have now gotten yours corrected.
