Okay fellows , need some help on this one. 3 pt will not raise after warm up. Works okay when first starting tractor. Works perfect until  it gets warm up , after about 10 to 15 minutes. Jinma 304- 4 wheel – 2003. On this one you have to remove the seat and remove the lift cover to get to hydraulics. You can't remove the ends on this one to get to the piston, like you can on some. The fel and power steering working okay. No problem at all with these, just the 3 pt lift. I have removed the piston and replaced the o-ring and the plastic wafer [ boy that was a job] . Replaced o- rings in the main control value, just the ones that look bad. Also flush the hydraulics out with diesel and cleaned the filter and put aw 32 hydraulic oil back in. I learned from reading your post. Can anyone give me some advice ! What am i missing? Something seams to be breaking down under heat. Just guessing. I' m hoping someone else has had this problem and give me the fix. Thanks!

Thanks RichWaugh, Yes to your post. I've have adjusted the flow valve, but i will try again . I found out if I raise the FEL ,then raise the  TPH. I can get the TPH to come up by lowering the bucket. Sounds like its starving for fluid. Could it be the hydraulic pump?

            Good odds its a pump.

May be time for a pressure gauge to be sure.

Ranch Hand, can you tell me what the pressure should read on a pressure guage if the pump is defective.

If the fel and power steering is working okay , since both of these are working off the same hydraulic pump ,I would assume the pump is good. Could be wrong. What do you think?

Does a 2003 have a screen in the sump and no extenal filter? Maybe a dirty screen? Caution: this from someone who has no experience in this, just what I've read on these forums.readin hmmm Looking foward to hearing the final solution.

Tinbender, It does have a filter on the inside of the sump and know it doesn't have a external filter. I have removed this filter and cleaned it up , Didn't replace because it looked okay. I have checked everything that I know . I 'm going to use the tractor the way it is. Will just have to raise and lower the the bucket on the FEL to raise the TPH. Thought i could fix it, but I going to have to give up. Thanks for your reply

P.S If I do  or every find out what the problem. I will post so others can fix if they have the same problem. Don't like to give up but this problem has defeated me. Thanks to all thats tried to help!

Billy, wait for someone to chime in on how and where to place a pressure gauge and where to get one (like surplus center). If your pump is still good you don't want to fry it. Something is wrong that needs to be fixed. When did this start happening? Over time or all at once? Any maintenance just before or was the three point worked abnormally before this happened? Someone here with more experience in this matter will have better troubleshooting skills than me since I am ignorant in this area. One reason I want to know the end result.

I can't buy that the pump is bad when the loader works ok. The loader takes far more oil than the 3 point.    Billy you said you adjusted the valve down in front of the seat.  You adjusted it to what?  Where is it set at exactly?

Have you removed the piston in the lift box ? Have you looked at the O-rings, wipers, stop ring ? If you have the type of lift box that the top (under the seat) will come off, you can run the tractor with that top off to see what changes when it warms up.I the loader is working I'm assuming the hydraulic pump is OK.

Let's see if I can confuse the situation more.

My loader valve comes after the pump, then flows to the diverter/priority (I've seen it called both) valve, which splits the flow between the steering and lift. My understanding is that steering takes priority, whatever is left goes to the lift.

Now, if there is inadequate flow, perhaps none is available for the lift? And lowering the loader provides a temporary increase? The loader would work under all conditions.

Tinbender, Started having trouble after the warranty was out. Cost me $500.00 the first time and it last about 8 months . The next time it cost me another $500.00 and it last awhile ,so this is when I decided to tried and fix myself. Can't afford another $500.00. This is the reason I'm going to leave it like it is. Can still worked the TPH by raising and lowering the FEL.

Springvalley, I have fool around with this control a lot. Looking at the manual, its call the flow control valve. Only thing I see that it does is adust how fast the TPH falls. If I screw it all the way in , the TPH will not fall at all. If I screw it out, falls way to fast. I've got it adjusted now where it falls normally.

What was done under warranty? for $500.00 there should be a receipt for work done.

And being a 2003, when was this work done?

Tommy at Affordable, I've have pulled the the cyclinder out and replaced the o-ring and wafer. Boy that was one heck of a job. On this one had to jack up the reservour and take 4 bolts loose to pull the cyclinder out . The old ones looked okay but I went ahead and replace them anyway. The piston also looked okay. I have left the lift cover off and watch to see what happens. Its kind of hard to see whats going with the reservour full of oil

Maybe you can tell me what the adustment is on the left of seat . It's goes to the main value in the reservour

                                    Billy,

You have that valve figured out but there is one more thing to be aware of. With that valve is with it turned in all the way in the oil is sent the the remotes.  The 3 point won't fall but it also won't go back up either.

If your tractor has two hyd pumps then you won't have the priority valve that Tom “biggerten” spoke of.  If you have one pump you will have the priority valve.  That could be your problem I have seen more than one of those fail. Also I have seen several 3 point lift valves fail.

Billy, that bolt on the side of the lift box is what diverts fluid to the remotes on a 300 series tractor, you can turn that bolt in or out while the tractor is running raising and lowering the lift see if it helps, . There are 2-pressure relief valves inside that lift box that may be causing the problem too. I guess the puzzling part to me is that you say it works ok when it's cold ? I also have the complete lift boxs in stock .just bolt on cost may not be as bad as you think.

Just wondering, is there a way to test the priority valve? could Billy put a gauge on the line to the TPH after the valve, or would he still have pressure but restricted flow?hmmm
