After pondering this for some time I think I'm just about ready to pull the trigger on this. Have to talk to a couple more people first. This should compliment the dozer nicely, and can also go on the skid steer.

You'll have to budget for a cupholder upgrade since you will be spending more time “going along for the ride”.hmmmroflmaohailking

Well it appears that the machine control package I want isn't available, only the LR-50 for $3,500.00. And the pair of $250.00 valves from Surplus Center won't work with it either, only proportional valves for another #3,200.00. Now I can see this topping well over $7k by the time it's installed. The upside is that I can use it with the box scraper and the skid steer, just have to build different masts.

It's costing an awful lot of money just to get a cup holder. roflmao

Well, I'm already into the dozer for $19.5k (not counting attachments), so I guess another $7+k won't be like blood-letting…argueroflmao

For those prices it should include a cute brunette that makes latte's. laugh

A total novice in this department but isn't that a bit much for a couple of valves?hmmm

Yes, it is. That's only slightly less than what our double-redundant, 480v, 50 HP steering valves cost for the ship. Sheesh! vomit I'm still shopping around.

This may not be happening after all. The Laser Grade company won't sell to me because I live too far away. They wouldn't be able to hold my hand, it appears.

I contacted Trimble and was referred to my local Caterpillar dealer. I'm waiting for a quote as we speak. I just know Cat is going to hit this one right out of the park. roflmao

Got the email quote from Cat today: $14,421.15, and that's for a genuine Trimble system. Maybe that includes installation too? It also includes $550.00 for calibration and training.

That's almost double from an Apache or Spectra system (which ironically are owned by Trimble).

I'm going to tell this gentleman that we need to talk. argue yell vomit
