Hi Guys , I ran my YTO out of fuel last night and cant get the primer pump to work . It unscrews but wont budge as far as pumping it up . I only used it once before right after I got it so I may not remember exactly how it works . I have put a new filter on it full of fuel but thought I better check here before screwing something up . Is there anything else I need to know ? Thanks in advance Bob

FYI I havent been around do to computer problems and not being able to find this forum again . I now have a brand new computer so I will be around asking more stupid questions as well as maybe help a little bit with the little I do know. lol

Well I got it running with no help from the primer pump though . I'm assuming it is froze somehow unless I dont know how much up and down travel it is supposed to have , it may move up and down a 1/16th of an inch but thats it. frown

I found what looks to be the same pump assembly on Tommys site but I was wondering if just the pump itself would be available seperatlly ? Thanks again. Bob

Yes I have the primers seperate, there are 2-different types 1- with primer on the right,1-on the left looking at the pump.Call the shop 979-865-4002 and we can get you fixed up

Nope, it's frozen. Should move about 2-1/2 inches. Unscrews to the left about one turn then it should pop up. There's not much to those pumps.

Just a note on changing those pumps out:

Drain the oil from the fuel injection pump first, then remove the large hex nut on the side of the pump – be careful because it has a pretty hefty spring behind it that applies pressure against the cam follower. Now the three nuts can be removed without any surprises. Re-install in reverse order.

                      wink

Thanks again Bob . Thats why I thought it would be much simpler and less of a waste to just replace the plunger pump instead of the whole assembly , it looks like its just a matter of unscrewing and reinstalling with some thread sealer .

The plunger is on the left ( front of engine ) of the large hex nut , so I just need to call Tommy and get the right one . I am curious to take my old one apart to see why its seized up though because I only used it the one time . frown

I still have yet to find any YTO dealers in the states though that will answer any email requests for parts . Even if I could call them I have a problem giving out credit card info over the phone when they have a website that has a parts email address for ordering. Sure seems like a heck of a way to do buisness . frown

The piston (plunger) is not serviced sepatately, you have to purchase the whole lift pump NOT the fuel injection pump assembly.

Almost everyone I know does business over the internet using credit cards.

                          It's 21st century stuff. wink

And FWIW, the lift pump is not manufactured by the same company that manufactures the fuel injection pump, which is not the same company that manufactures the engine, which is not the same company that manufactures the tractor.

Have you tried these folks? Try calling and ask for the parts dept.

Bob,I don't think that place is in buisness any longer. There is 1-dealer in Ca. I think.

YTO looks like a nice tractor,I can get parts we just don't stock many because the smal amount of YTO tractors that are in the USA.I know Koyker makes loader mounting kits for all sizes of there line.
