Ok for the second time the bolt that holds my alternator has broken. But this time I lost the spacer. Tractor is a 2003 Jinma 284 Y385 engine. the alternator is held on by a M10 bolt that is 100 mm long.there is a spacer between the alternator and the mounting block about 3/4″ long.anyone have one? or at least know the real length? also how about a harder bolt? I think this one is 10.9 (if that's the hardness?? In looking at the “parts” manual that came with the tractor it does not show the spacer and list the bolt as 80 mm long. Thanks.

Measure the distance between the mounting ears of the bracket, next measure the length of the mounting foot of the alternator and deduct it from the “ears” measurement. The remainder is the length of the spacer, which can be cut from steel, brass, or aluminum stock, and center drilled.
Can't understand why you're breaking those bolts, they hardly have any loading. You can also drill out to 3/8″ and use a grade 5 3/8″ bolt.

My alternator mount has no “ears” It is a small piece of steel with 2 holes where it bolts on to the engine block and a hole that is threaded for the #10 bolt for the alternator. It is sort of a small “L “braket.the spacer is between the alternator and the bracket. (unless there is a “newer type mount??) The load is the weight of the alternator and the viberations from the engine. I don't think I could get good threads in the mounting block if I tried to drill and tap it for 3/8 ,,maybe I could helicoil it tho??

Did not know it was a “L” bracket instead of a “U” bracket.
