my 2005 lenar 204 (dong feng) now has 400 hrs I had a problem with the diff lock so I drained the system and pulled the trans cover and the under seat hydros cover greased the diff lock shaft ,took care of the stiffness.anyway I cleaned the screen and no iron there but flakes of copper not a bunch but more than I would expect.I have changed the oil twice before and did not notice it then. What would be copper besides the banjo washers?

just to mention I have had no issues with the power steering or lift system, rear end or trans.has common sump to all. and did I read that someone has a upgraded screen available?

It is very unclear to me where you are seeing the copper flakes.

in the external filter canister which has a screen in it under a floorboard.the tractor has a common sump in the rear end ,trans ,power steering. I have been using utf for above since there are gears and hydros together in the same system.

Sorry David, but I'm still having problems with the vernacular.
Is this a suction side filter or a return line filter?
Does the line from the filter go to the hydraulic pump, or does it go to the valve block?
I cannot think of any reason why you would be seeing copper flakes, as the only places copper is used is in sealing washers, under-plating for chrome plating (hydraulic rods / shafts), and underlayment for zinc or babbitt plating on engine plain bearings, and of course the radiator.

I think it is on a return but either way I do not have any problems but I was also stumped about the copper flakes in the screen and none in the bottom of the trans or rear end.like I said before this is the third oil change and the oil looks good no iron in the screen a little on the drain plug magnets.why now if it was left over manufacturing cuttings,I guess I will put arother 100 hrs on it and look again.thanks
