354 loss of hydraulics

The suction side of the hydraulic tank is on the left side sitting in the seat,but it sounds like you are low on hydraulic fluid.When you check the hydraulic oil level behind the seat is the dipstick screwed in or sitting on top of the hole ?

the dipstick is screwed all the way in.  I dont know if is relted or not but when I have the three point hitch lifted all the way up it bounces alot and i can see the hydraulic line running up along the side of the engine jumping as well.

also when i get on the side of a hill alot of hydraulic fluid leaks out through the holes of the dipstick cap 

You're low on hydraulic fluid.  The level on Chinese equipment sumps with screw-in dipsticks is properly checked with the dipstick merely resting on the hole, NOT screwed-in.  You're getting a false reading and not filling the hydraulic sump sufficiently that way.

Yes, going up steep hills will often result in the hydraulic fluid drooling out of the breather vent.  The simple cure for this is to unscrew the breather cap and replace it with a short length of pipe nipple.  Then attach a hose to the nipple stub and route it up alongside one of the ROPS arms a ways and stick the breather cap back on it.  The breather vent is now high enough that no fluid will be lost on hills.

As Tommy suggests, if you joined CTOA as member ($15 for life), all this information would have been available to you in previous posts.  Believe me, if you own a Chinese tractor and want it to live a long and useful life, joining this site will really help that aim be realized.  It's less than the cost of one oil filter, after all, and will do at least as much toward helping you properly maintain and/or repair your Chinese tractor.

Thanks for all the info, I have joined CTOA and expect to be rely on everyones knowledge quite a lot as I am new to the Chinese tractor market.

Also do they make a kit to add hydraulic outputs on the rear of the tractor to run implents such as a post driver??

Ok, so I went out to recheck the hydraulic fluid level and the stick is missing out of the cap now.  If i remove the set and take the top cover off of the case will that allow me access to try to find the dipstick??  Also as I was looking over the area around the dipstick I noticed that the gap between the lift arms and the case is a lot wider on the top than it is on the bottom, is that normal, I am assuming not. 

Here is a pic of the Foton Hydraulic breather,it's upside down in the pic. The hose barb is on the bottom, and it mounts to the ROPS, you just add a piece of hose from the breather tube on the dipstick to this breather.

ok, so i finally got a chance to tinker with my 354 a little bit.  I drained and refilled my hydraulics, checked the fluid level with the dipstick unscrewed and just setting on top of the case, it is full.  I used a couple of pipe nipples and some hose to relocate the dipstick/vent cap higher up on the ROPS.  Once everything was full and all modifications were done I hooked up to my brush hog and headed back onto the hill to try it out, much to my dismay once I got against the side of the hill again, I lost the hydraulics again.  However, this time once I got back to level ground the hydraulics still would not function.  Is it possible to get a an incline to steep for the hydraulic pump to pull fluid from the case or could it possibly just a case of the hydraulic pump finally deciding to give out and it just so happened to be against the side of the hill??  Any and all comments and suggestions are welcome and wanted.

Are you sure you are checking the right oil level, your hydraulic tank is what your seat is sitting on, the dipstick is directly behind the seat.
