Looking for some suggestions, I don't know a lot about my Yan Tuo HW03X backhoe so please go easy on me. I had the BH disconnected for the winter and just connected it up for the first time since last summer. The pump is working but none of the BH controls do anything. I read about stuck valves but have no experience with this. Can anyone suggest some place to start and provide a little guidance?

        Thank you!

a lot of people on this site have complained about the stock quick connect couplers.i think most would suggest changing them out for pioneers couplers.

            Hi Chris,

Does your backhoe run off the tractor hydraulics using quick-connect fittings, or does it have it's own separate pump and reservoir?

It connects to the tractors pump but has it’s own reservior.

Is the tractor's pump you are referring to mounted to the engine or the rear of the tractor?

                  Rear of tractor.

Without seeing actual pictures, I'm speculating that the pump you are referring to actually belongs to the backhoe, and is operated by the tractor's PTO. The hoses are not normally removed from these pumps and the pumps are normally removed along with the backhoe and stay with it unless you have one of the heavier built Prince pumps that merely slide onto the lower splined PTO shaft.

Have you checked the hydraulic oil level? There is a remote possibility that the pressure relief valve is stuck open by debris and just passing oil.

How do you know the pump is working?

Is the PTO engaged? Has the PTO been running with the pumps hoses disconnected?

These tractors have the setup to permit a second hydraulic pump to be mounted above the PTO shaft where it is run directly off the engine.  There is a square plate just above the PTO that is removed to expose a drive tang where you mount a regular CBN- type pump just like the one on the engine, and it is driven by a shaft from the engine that runs straight through the PTO housing.  The only difference is that this pump must be re-configured to turn the opposite direction from the one on the engine.  This pump is left connected to the tractor all the time and only the hoses are removed from it to disconnect the 'hoe from the tractor.

It is possible that the OP has this type of setup instead of a PTO pump.

                          Ok.

The tractor has two rear PTO’s.

                          1) Upper, full time, runs at engine speed, cannot be disengaged, flush tang drive. A CBN pump mates to this (no other pump will).

                          2) Lower, part time, two speeds (540/720 r/m) plus neutral, 1-3/8″ dia. six spline shaft. A Prince pump slips over this shaft.
