Changed the oil in my dozer; after oil change dozer will not start. Called Nortrak apparently oil was added too quickly, and a cylinder filled with oil, leading to “hydrolock”. I would appreciate detailed instructions on removing the fuel injectors in order to eject the oil. Have never removed one before. Thanks you,

1) Remove the banjo bolt holding the fuel return lines to the top of the injector.
2) Loosen (do not remove) the hard fuel line at the injector.
3) Remove the two nuts holding the injector clamp, and remove the clamp.
4) Remove the hard fuel line nut and cover the fuel line.
5) Pull out the injector and copper sealing washer.
Make sure the injector bore is absolutely clean and dry before reinstalling with a new sealing washer. Assemble in reverse order.
This task can also be accomplished by just removing the glow plugs and turning the engine over using a socket on the front of the crankshaft.

If your tractor is equipped with a compression release, you can simply pull that and lock it open, then turn the engine over with a wrench on the crank pulley nut until the oil is expelled out the exhaust valves. Lots less trouble than pulling injectors or glow plugs, I'd think. This is my notion anyway; if Bob says different, then I'd listen to him – he's way more knowledgeable than I am about diesel engines.

Thanks Rich, I forgot about the compression release. Be sure to use the drain plug in the exhaust manifold if you do it that way, otherwise a big mess wil ensue.

Ah, I didn't know that, Bob. Learn something new every day. Is there a good reason they don't out them on dozers?

I'll speculate because the fuel tank is right up against the rear of the valve cover and cylinder head.

I must have a hybrid. Compression release on engine, no connecting hardware on tractor. I'd consider rigging something up except I've never needed it.
