Howdy, I have a Jinma 284 with very low hours. I see this constant gear oil drip from my right front axle. I want to make sure I fix this right the first time. The tractor is 2 hours away from me and I only get to it once per month. I am hoping its just a simple fix with a simple seal. Yet from what I read maybe there is something more serious. My wheel is still on, it did not fall off. Yet I was digging with the loader in 4wd in very rocky ground. I assume I have to remove wheel, remove all the bolts behind the hub, pull the axle out, replace the seal and then re-assemble. The must be something I am missing. I.e. an alignment tool, a bearing press, I forgot to mark some alignment position, replace the positron unit, etc. All advice is appreciated including what to order (seals, gaskets, bearings, etc.) Thanks!

I pledge to dig with my 354 and its backhoe and only move soft dirt with my 284. I really need a D9.

Remove the wheel, then the 8- bolts holding the cover on, once they are out you can remove the driving shaft it will come out with the cover, once you have it out you have to press the bearing off the driving shaft which will allow it to come off, you can then access the seals.Re-assembly is in reverse.You are going to need a seal, gasket, possible bearing, and I would replace the half moon washers( that's what holds that driving shaft in,they are cheap .
