has anybody had problems with there dozers oil pressure on a slight incline…..what kind of oil pressure do they suppose to hold the book says 60psi but at low idle and motor warm mine holds 12-15psi

so are you saying that it has a different oil pressure when level? If so maybe something with the windage tray in the pan if it has one or the oil pump pickup,(I have heard of them cracking) or is the oil level is just low.

First, make sure the relief valve isn't blocked open by debris, and that it is set correctly. Also a possibility that the O-rings in the selector (F-N-R) valve have failed and the oil is by-passing at that point. Being on a slight incline shouldn't matter except when you check the oil level. Do you have a sight glass in the left saddlebag reservoir?

Are you talking about engine or shuttle clutch oil pressure?
There is no windage tray in these engines or transmissions.

12 to 15 psig is fine for low idle on a warm TY series engine.
What is the pressure at 1,800 r/m on a warm engine?

rotella t 15-40 at 1400 warm engine its around 25-30psi….the book that came with it is wrong on a few things i was just wondering if it was wrong on the oil pressure……

engine oil pressure….so id have to overfill it to keep oil pressure on a incline

the only thing i can figure is the oil sump is toward the back of the motor because i can climb a tree foward and oil pressure never dips but if i back up a hill if its steep oil pressure will dip

The engine has a flat bottom sump and the oil pick up strainer is in the center. The engine holds almost four gallons (three cylinder engine). Is there a possibility the dip stick is wrong? I've had my dozer up and down trench walls that have pegged the inclinometer with no issues

you may be right on the dipstick…the book calls for 1.6 gallons…but i have to put 2 gallons in it for it to be right on the dip stick….mines a four cylinder laidong engine…i called nortrac and all they can tell me is what the book says not very helpful..i think the book is for another dozer like a yuachi or guillen they just put a pic of my dozer on the cover

you got a nice looking dozer on your profile how long have you had your rob rooks?
ive only had mine about 8 months…had to send it back twice over the right steering clutch…..it slips sometimes but sometimes it dont they never could figure out y…and the fuse box melted..ive got 94hrs on it so far its done more than i thought it could it pushes better than dads td9 and my brothers jd 1010….but the right clutch is aggravating me i dont wanna tear in to it cause its still under warranty but they cant fix it…and the oil pressure..what you said about the dipstick makes alot of sense…i
dads old td9 we have to overfill it to push on a hill….i was hoping i wouldnt have to do that with this one cause when ur in the level it has to be hard on the motor..

I'm sorry, I meant four quarts for the engine, but since you have the four cylinder Laidong engine you are probably correct at 1.6 gal. and not too overly full at 2 gal.
Some trivia: Yuchai bought out Guilin some years back and just within the past eight years have slowly been making improvements. All of these small Chinese dozers, with the exception of one I think, are manufactured by Yuchai. Yuchai also builds these dozers to customer specs, such as Nortrac, Eastwind, Power Trac, etc.
I bought mine new in '05 and have almost 700 hrs. on it. I have the optional FEL kit also. I've made many upgrades and mods, and have designed a better and simpler steering clutch linkage system.
Underneath your steering clutch compartments there is a comparatively large plug. These compartments must be checked periodically for oil leaking from the final drives or bevel gear compartment.

ive tried to get the plugs out i think im gonna have to drill and ez out…..bob from nortrac said the ceramic clutch disks shouldnt slip with oil on them but the brake bands isnt as effective….i wonder if my oil sump is in the middle….next oil change i might take the plate off the oil pan and look….i was wondering if your dozer has grease fittings on the front and rear swing shaft bushings my book says mine does but in reality theres not even a place for a grease fitting….so you came up with a better design for the steering clutches and the brakes i may have to get you to draw me a pic..its a poor design hard to keep them in sequence to get the brake to grab right sometimes the clutch isnt fully disengaged hard to get it right..but with patience it can be done..

The clutch discs are not ceramic-metallic, they are sintered bronze – the same as found in Borg Warner reverse gears and automotive automatic transmissions. I don't know where they got that from. Maybe lost in a translation somewhere.

Mine came with a grease fitting on the equalizer bar front trunnion mount, I installed a grease fitting on the rear mount where there was none.
The swing (track) frames only have one lubrication point, that being at the cross shaft.

thanks for ur help..its nice to know somebody that has worked on these little machines before and have a website devoted to these little beasts…is yours a standard tranny or shuttle shift….i wished id looked around and found a shuttle shift..how do you upload videoes and pics on here…i got some videoes of my two boys operating the backhoe they love it

The way I do videos is to just copy and paste a You Tube link. All my videos are stored on You Tube. Not sure if you can actually upload videos to this site directly.
Mine is a standard shift. I wanted a shuttle clutch, but it's a long story.
