Welcome Peter.
Your pic didn’t come through. I know of no restrictions for posting pics, except for size. They can’t be too large. 1mb limit. Try again.

there should be a engine id plate somewhere on the engine and a engine size year made and type cast in the block like y-380 or 495 and others. you should know that there is no loyalty to a engine manf. to the tractor manf. but maybe it could shed some light as the tractor manf. by what engine you have in it. good luck

Picture search indicates it may be a mid-2000 Mahindra.

Last year I got ahold of the importer that brought these tractors into Canada with his own ID plates on them, he wasn’t going to say the manufacturing company. The eng.# on the valve cover is KM385T-09303 its a 2005, the picture is a marking on the trans. Which by the way is a 4 speed.

I looked up that engine it looks it is a Laidong and might that tractor be a Kama? I looked a one when I was in the market for a tractor in 2006 and from what I remember it looks close to what I remember. I remember something about Mahindra buying a Chinese tractor plant. maybe there is a connection. oh that engine is about 22 hp.

Could be a TYM tractor. Also, YTO sells rebranded tractors like Jinma does.

I don’t think it’s going to be easy to find manufacturing company of my tractor, but it’s a great working beast. It goes over snow piles like a mountain goat.

I think I have narrowed your search down to a Nortrac/Jinma/Mahindra (all same). Picture of instrument cluster would probably make it conclusive.

Bob, you have made me curious.
I thought Jinma was the company that made and sold their own brand as well as Farm Pro and Nortrac as well as some others. Basic differences were hoods, fenders, and other cosmetic things.
However I was under the impression that Mahindra was a totally different company based in India where Jinma is Chinese.
Am I missing something in the connection between Jinma and Mahindra?
BTW, the tractor in question looks a lot like my Jinma but styled a little different. I have never seen a Mahindra in person so can only go by pictures.

I really apreciate your help, your 50 Ford coe sounds really interesting. Sold my 53 GMC all original 3/4 ton last year. Anyways I get sidetracked easy last year I spoke to the owner of I think Asian tractor parts and he said the 4 speed trans is what’s confusing for the more common brands.

That’s a pretty basic instrument cluster, not even a tachometer. Have you checked under the left fender for any markings?
My ’50 F-6 transit mixer is another project.

I believe Mahindra makes the higher horsepower tractors for Jinma, like 35 HP and above. Have you talked to Ronald at Ranch Hand Supply?

Interesting. I didn’t know that about the higher HP tractors as I only have the 284.
It has been a couple of years since I talked with Ronald.
Thanks for the info.

I know that it is just a bit of chance but my dong feng is set up with individual gauges like yours. But there is clear different casting i.d on the trans. DFAM. I do not have any of their info. but I know that one of Mahindra assembly locations is in Chattanooga, TN. maybe a call to them for some ideas on what you have , you never know till you ask.

I have looked at hundreds of pictures on line of any Chinese tractor brand I could and only found similaritys with my tractor, but no match, when I spoke to the owner of Asian tractor parts he was stumped and he was a Jinma dealer a one point. This is the best forum I’ve been on to get helpful people. :good:
Here’s her working last night!

I just found this list. It’s pretty exhaustive. Yours HAS to be in there somewhere.
