Don’t know if the Nortrac, Yuchai or others are like the Farmpro dozer hyd setup but here what dosen’t make much sense. My 6 way blade has 5 cylinders, 1 for  angle, 2 for lift and 2 for blade left/right.  The blade lift cylinders are smaller than the L/R ones.  I can’t even come close to lifting the blade  but with the blade up I can remove the pins and move the blade left to right.  So why did they put 2 large cylinders to move the blade L/R which take little effort? Even the brackets are much thicker steel than the lift brackets, got me thinking maybe in China there is another use for this system other than just adjust L/R.

          Hi Chuck,

Push up a full blade of dirt and then see how easy it is to turn by hand –  hence the more powerful cylinders on the angle. Allows you to direct the load while in motion. Does that answer your question?

Maybe, guess I never used that function. My experience with blades were always on tractors until I got the dozer. Now I learned a new use for the 6 way blade, will try it out when playing around in the dirt.

What Tontosgold said is true. You also need more strength to hold the blade in position when sidecasting, especially when the blade is also tilted. You will find these cylinders to be larger on any dozer with a six-way blade.
