Why does this site need a harder password than any of my banks?
Every time I log on I need to go through the forgotten password email system. Tried to reset it in My Profile but it just gives me “you are logged in”? I assume I can reset it when responding to the Lost Password email link but don’t remember it as it requires too many characters to adjust it from my standard passwords. Just keeps me off the site.

Strange, must have changed for newer members. I still use the same 6 digit easy as pie password I’ve always used    I have other sites that are impossible, just as you describe. But this ain’t one of them.

            No problem here either.   :good:

I’ve had the same simple password over the several evolutions of this site. I even check the “Remember me” box and allow my anti-virus to store my password.

              Account deleted.

I also used the same password since about 2005 or 6 when I got my tractor but perhaps cap lock or lack of memory lock made me have to use the forgot password link. This is the screenshot password reset saying to use at least 12 characters. And yes, for the person who will inevitably reply, “you can change the password, you don’t have to use that one given in the box”, I have done that. I think it will take less than 12 but I could not find any in my usual repertoire that it would take. Guess I can write it down but sorta wrecks the point of a password.

I like that example. Makes me wish I had taken that “Learn to write in Russian” course. :mail:

I guess being a old timer on this site has it’s advantages , short passwords
