Battery has gone on my Jinma 254.. It’s not the original, anyone got any ideas as to what should be there? Thanks

My 2006 model 284 takes a Group 24F. Yours is probably the same.
The Chinese original in my tractor went 11 years! If you live in cold weather the more CCA the better.

My battery just died as well it is the original bought my 284 jinma in 2003 it is a AMARON battery I to am looking for a replacement battery. None of the Jinma tractor stores sells them!

Any auto parts store such as NAPA or Pep Boys will have one. Same for farm stores like TSC, Runnings, etc. Big box stores too like WalMart, Lowes or Menard’s.
I bought mine at either WalMart or Menard’s. Whoever had the best price at the time.
Even the nearest Caterpillar dealer will have one. It will cost more, but will be a superior battery.
Just take the old battery in with you so you can compare sizes and terminal locations. You will need it to save the core charge anyway. Don’t bother telling them what it is for, they won’t be able to look it up that way.

I think any group 31 battery will turn these tractors just fine , just remember to get the terminals – and + on the correct ends so the cables will reach.

I replaced the battery in my 06 McConnell Marc 425XL (Jinma 254) this summer…I’m pretty sure it was a group 24 750 cold cranking amps. Mine was blocking half of the radiator and was letting the engine run hot after a couple hours of use so while it was out I started looking at relocating it. I relocated the battery back between the seat and the fender on the clutch side and there is still plenty of room for your foot and leg to use the clutch. I used an RV plastic battery box and bolted it to the diamond plate. I turned the pos cable around and fed it back through behind the steering box, but I did have to add a foot of cable to it so it reach the battery. I reused the neg cable and bolted right to the rops bar. It has worked out great and no more running hot…
