I need to replace the radiator cap on my Foton 704 tractor. Asia tractor trying to see about ordering one and so in Sundowner. Anyone have other hints? And as a side anyone know what the pressure is on a the radiator cap?

it is low 3 or 4 lbs I think . I have a 2006 Foton ft504a with a 50 hp  quanchi engine, but if I remember right I got one at napa. If I can I will look at it for some numbers and get back.

sorry this took so long but the only thing I see on it is .5 , I assume that is what the cap is rated to hold but it does not say what metric measure they are using . I have another Chinese tractor and it’s cap says .6 and again to what metric scale are they using to measure the rating. I check my parts book and they do not show the cap as a part if you want one you have to buy the whole radiator,,, just stupid,, stupid as eating a bat.

              .5 atmospheres is 7.35 PSI

              .5 Bars is 7.25 PSI

These are the only two units of measure that make any sense for .5

I know from experience that if you put a 13 PSI cap on a Jinma 284 radiator it will blow it up! You are probably safe with 6 to 8 PSI. If you don’t have a recovery system be sure to leave head space in the radiator for expansion, otherwise it just blows overboard. The factory cap on mine had a recovery system valve built into it so I added a generic bottle and filled the radiator to the top. Works perfect and easy to monitor the level without taking the cap off.

I agree these radiators are thin so to much pressure trying to keep the anti-freeze in the radiator will make it split, I to added a recovery tank and kept the pressure low.
