Checked the oil in my tractor (y385 engine) the other day and it was way over full…it does not smell diesel fuel..I’m thinking that the pump seal failed and is letting hyd oil into the crank case and I checked the hyd oil and it’s low…the tractor only has 250 hrs on it…I have ordered a new pump for it, but is there another problem I should be looking for that would make the seal fail? Everything is working as it should…the bucket goes up and down and the power steering works fine…Thanks in advance

If there has been no deadheading of the pump, maybe just to be on the safe side work in a gauge to monitor the pressure on the new pump. People have had issues with the quick connects in the past causing problems, maybe a partial restriction is at work here? maybe also over pressure bypass issue.
