Larry and Rich, To bad I did not see your posts until after I had split the tractor. Read too many posts on bad internal roll pins. It indeed was the external pins in the arm, not internal as I found after splitting it. Thought i had it figured out when i stuck a bolt in where the external pin had sheared, but as the bolt was not tight in the hole it allowed too much movement, specially after slipping out of place.

Looking at replacing the throwout bearing while i am there but local bearing shops cannot seem to get me this unit. In other posts people talked about repacking the throwout bearing. It's a sealed unit. I have a couple of 5/16 stainless bolts that are perfect size so i might replace the internal roll pins just to accomplish something while i am in there.
