Thanks for your thoughts and opinions, I agree that it is likely I will have to split it as the problem is internal. Really don't have the time to get that done. Rob, I also agree; it seems crazy to put an unbreakable peace in externally as you are then moving the weak link to the inside of the gearcase. It probably is a good plan to replace the pins with something more solid inside the box though.
