my 2006 foton ft 504a has a compressor for air brakes.I do not use the air brakes but I do use the air compressor when I need air away from the barn. The controller that sends air to the brake system when the brake pedal is depressed is bypassing,so the system will not build pressure.I have not pulled it apart yet so I thought I would ask if anyone has a idea if that part is even able to be taken apart or are they typicaly sealed to prevent tampering?

Are your brakes air over hydraulic or straight air?
Do you have a treadle valve?
Curious; How can you operate the tractor without using any brakes?

hi Bob- I think he's referring to what is an option, at least on my rhino, in the chinese market it must common to have the tractors pulling air brake equipped trailers, and apparently he ended up with the air system on his machine, if his tractor's similar to mine it has standard mechanically actuated disc or drum brakes.. Now i'm a little envious- actually considered trying to order the parts to add the factory style air system to mine…run air tools ,air up tires . Or did i misinterpret the Foton?

I think you are right on this. The DF’s have the same option and have seen some with it. I would love to add this as well for the reasons you mention if I could find the parts.
Heres an except from the manual if it helps at all. A few pics I found as well
Good luck Dave
5.10 Adjustment of Air Brake Facilities (Optional)
Air brake facilities should be adjusted in two aspects as follows:
a. Adjustment of air pump: If the air pressure is found too low while the air pump is working, the exhaust valves’ sealing should be checked up. Clean or grind the exhaust valve if necessary. If the oil gathering in the air tank is found more than 15 ml after the air pump works for 24 hours, then wear-and tear of piston rings should be checked up, replace them if necessary.
b. Adjustment of air braking timing
If the timing of air brake is not correct, then it should be adjusted. If the pull rod of brake valve is shortened, the brake timing becomes earlier, conversely, the brake timing is put off. Usually, trailer’s braking should be initiated a little bit earlier than the tractor’s shoe brakes do.

It is all air driven and it has some valve that works I assume as a treadle valve but it is seperate from the brake pedal arm ,mounted under the floor pan.It works off a rod hooked to the pedal arm. when I get some time I will pull it apart.Oh the tractor brakes are wet ones and unaffected.

well disassembly was straight forward.it looked like the parts was assembled without much lube on the piston o ring that shuttles a flat seal against a face.I used some white grease on the o ring and the tension springs, all is well now.
