Quick question, my Jinma 254 does not have an ammeter, I mistakenly thought the oil pressure gauge was one at first (ignorance is bliss).  Would like to put one in, but not exactly sure where it should be wired in.  A little help there please.   A bit of follow up, I installed the 40 amp relay in the glow plug circut and have not had to plug in to start yet this fall and we have had some cool mornings upstate NY this year.  Last year I needed it constantly.

        Thanks

Personally, I wouldn't bother with an ammeter. Instead, install a voltmeter. Simpler to install and gives you better information.

I took my ammeter out and installed a voltmeter.

If you are a purist, then you would run the leads all the way to the battery posts (like I did, and be sure to put a 1-1/2 amp fuse in the line) to get the most accurate reading of the battery's charge state and eliminate any line losses. Don't feel bad if you don't do it that way.
