Anybody out there spray anything like LPS 3 on their implements like snowblowers to prevent rust during storage? Is there a better product or idea? Thanks, Fido

I simply keep a few cans of spray paint around and touch up as needed. When I pull my snow blower from the tractor (I hope real soon) any bare metal gets a new coat of paint. Scratches get touched up etc.

I use a product called Iron Clad. Use it on cylinder rods and unpainted surfaces. Otherwise as Larry does.

Working on some real old equipment for a career has been more than a pain in the patute. We found that a product named POR 15 works great. Particularly in fuel tanks that rusted to the point of scaleing inside. You know…. where little flakes of rust keep you busy cleaning/changing the filters. It bonds to the metal. Lasts longer than paint. We cleaned the tanks with muratic acid and then poured POR15 inside. No more rust. Used it also on exposed blades and frames that were either not cost expediant or just too much time/cost to get to for paint.
Here's a link….. http://www.por15.com/POR-15/pr…..tinfo/1GB/

I'm a dealer for them, keep it in stock. Here's a tip: When you open a can of Por 15, put a baggie or some other plastic between the can and the lid. That stuffs so tough it will weld the lid to the can.
