Went to start my Jinma 354 and heard starter begin to turn engine over then nothing.  I noticed a 30 amp fuse, lower right of fuse box, was blown.  I replaced the fuse and tried again.  Starter didn't even begin to engage, no noise at all except I heard the fuse blow again.  I replaced the starter solenoid with a new one, replaced the blown fuse, and tried again.  Same results.  NO solenoid sounds, no starter sounds, just the pop of the fuse blowing again. ANy suggestions?

Check your safety switch the clutch pedal presses on, perhaps it's bent and shorting out.

Thanks, I checked it and it appears ok.  The clutch, when pressed, closes the switch.  I will look for shorts when it stops raining.

My 304 Jinma did that same act and I puled the voltage regulator and lugged it back in which seemed to cure the problem.  Something else to try, at least.

Thanks, I ordered a new starter for it.  In the meantime I'll try that.

Did you take the starter off and get it checked? Most part stores will do this for you. The reason I ask is that after reading these forums for a few years I would highly suspect the key switch.readin

Haven't even looked at it.  Weather is finally clearing for the weekend.  It's been raning all week.  frown

Thanks for your suggestion.  I ordered the switch just in case.

OK, first suggestion was best.  I changed started to no avail.  THEN I disconnected tie wraps on wiring harness and found a short to ground.

Cleared the short and it started right up.

                        Thanks guys
