Need to change the fuel filter on my Jinma 254 for the first time.  Any tricks of the trade I should know about ????   To make the job go without any restart problems.  Much thanks !!!

I would highly recommend changing your engine oil as well if your not already planning to.  It helps to fill the filter with oil before screwing onto housing, also lubricate the rubber seal around the filter to ensure a tight fit. Dont tighten the filter to much or you will regret it next time you change it. If you are unable to fit a filter wrench onto the filter you can use a leather belt and that seems to do the trick.

Our video on how to change fluids and filter on a Jinma tractor may be useful for you, you can view that video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0no-vM1hWA

Ah i apologize for that i guess i should read a little better.

For the fuel filter i would fill the filter up as much as possible before placing on housing, lubricate seal. If your filter does not mount vertically you will almost certainly have to bleed your fuel lines of air.

To bleed the fuel lines, loosen the nut on the hard line going to injector #1, while loose crank the tractor using the ignition NOT the hand primer. Tighten the nut once you notice solid diesel coming from the leak and no air. if possible tighten the nut while cranking the tractor if you have a second person. Repeat separately for cylinders 2 and 3. I say not to use the hand primer because we have found that it tends to suck air periodically, setting you back to step one.

Thanks, again for the reply.  And yes it does mount vertically.  So I’m hoping for no restart problems.

yeah as long as you get as much diesel in there as physically possible you shouldnt have to bleed any air. Best of luck to you!
