Hi there,
I came across the forum while searching the net for info on oils for my tractor. I have just purchased a used Luzhong 304 and it requires a little maintenance before using. The manual specifies the following oils:
Engine – L-ECC Class Model 30 (for winter conditions 5'C and above)
Transmission and Hydraulics: N100D
Can anyone assist with the AW/ISO equivalent oils?
I found one reference that suggested N100D is equivalent to AW100 but when I asked for this at a local supplier, they were of the opinion that this oil was too thick and the oils they supply for most leading brands such as John Deere is AW68. In terms of engine oil, I'm also at a loss, some sources suggest AW30 but given that i'm in South Australia, perhaps an oil to cater for the difference in temps would be more appropriate eg 5W-30.
Thanks in advance
Ian

I use 15/40 diesel engine oil in the engine year round.and universal tractor fluid in anything hydro ,80/90 gl-4 or 5 on gears. It gets 100 f here and goes down to 10f normally.had no issues using this stuff. would love to visit your country sometime.

On the hyd oil the “D” means double function oil. This would be trans/hyd oil or commonly called tractor fluid. I looked up N100D and it said viscosity index of 90-100. The AW30 I looked up had a viscosity index of 95. So I don't know where the AW100 came from. Hope that helps.

ISO AW 100. Scroll down on the right to see the specs. This is a custom formulated synthetic hydraulic oil. My guess it's out of our pocket books.
I use a multi-grade hydraulic oil AW32-46-68 with excellent results in all weather conditions (in Wash. state). I wouldn't use UTF mainly because you are throwing money away, and it is not specified for straight hydraulic systems. You will be fine with ISO AW 32 or ISO AW 46 hydraulic oils. Try not to use straight AW machine oil, and especially engine oil
