does the nb3500 dozer blade go down farther than the 35xtd dozer from nortrac…Just wondering because if it did I was wondering how long the blade Jack’s was…Tryin to figure a way to get mine to dig couple inches deeper…The 35xtd only sinks down three inches or so when your working on rolling hills it can get frustrating ..Thanx

Three inches is it for Yuchai dozers. Keep in mind that the three inches becomes exponential in a straight level push. Leveling moderately rolling terrain can be  time consuming, that’s why I use machine control laser equipment – takes the frustration out of it. I just sit back, steer, run the throttle, and drink coffee. :yahoo:

If you want to extend the blade drop you would have to fabricate extended lift cylinder mountings on the wishbone.

              • That would take away from the blade lift wouldn’t it…I’d like for it to keep the 19 inches or so of lift but add 2 or three inches of drop..Prolly no way to do it without a different length Jack and move mounts forward on wishbone…I’m working it Appalachian mountains all but level..lol

Shifting the a-frame mounts rearwards 100 -150mm would give you more digging depth from the same length cylinder, however doing so might cause it to interfere with the floor frame in which case you would need to shift the top mount forward also. Altering the angle of the cylinder to a more vertical position will increase length of blade travel. I can’t confirm the idea with measurements because my dozer is still in bits but it’s food for thought anyway. Keep us posted if you decide to do the mod, would be interested in doing the same to mine.

Member “Bluenoser” replaced the lift cylinders with a longer pair from Surplus Center. Don’t know if the pics are on this new site, but he did a pretty nice job. Had to do a little mod to the towers to accommodate the new cylinders.

I remember he purchased the cylinders here:
