i have a 1995 30 hp chinese dozer, and it was ran out of fuel and now the primer pump seems to have seized up — is there a trick to try, or do you know somewhere where I can get one

Interesting, because you turn it CLOCKWISE to lock it down, and COUNTERCLOCKWISE to unlock it so it will spring up.
Anyway, is the plunger on the left or right side of the lift pump?

You can also do away with the mechanical lift pump altogether if you wish. I have done this, and also my Mitsubishi excavator is factory equipped with an electric pump. They are available through most auto parts stores, and work very well.

That mechanical lift pump is pretty generic. It fits a multitude of small engines, including the TY-395, TY-290, etc. Almost all Jinma tractors have them.

Be sure there is a good filter upstream of it, if you have the sediment bowl that’s excellent.
I connected mine to the key switch, that way you don’t forget to turn it on or off. Also, be sure to fuse the circuit.
Other than making sure it’s pumping in the right direction, that’s it.
At some point you will want to remove the mechanical lift pump completely and block it off because that’s been a source of fuel dilution in the injection pump oil in the past.

One other question, the hydraulic hoses that tilt the blade left and right came apart and they are metric, the local people say they don’t have metric fitting — any idea where I could get the correct hoses.

There appears to be other hoses that may work, but you’ll have to call to get measurements.
One other question, how do I remove the old primer?
The lift pump has a triangular bolt pattern, one at the top, two at the bottom. I would advise to remove the large nut on the face of the pump first because there is a pretty stiff spring behind it, and it will make the removal easier.
You can also get ORFS x JIC adapters, but you will need one for each end of a hose. These will allow you to convert to JIC fitted hoses. Kinda spendy though.
