I have a 4 year old 304 and am constantly making sure all bolts are tight. However, I missed the 4 fan hub bolts, and guess what? 1 worked it's way out and made a nasty circular pattern in the radiator! My advice. Check them out and tighten, if needed.

Bob, yea it cut into several tubes which I had to have repaired. The fan belt survived.

While on the subject of fans, last year, a couple of the metal blades on mine decided to go their own way. Off to the radiator repair shop. One blade even managed to put a slice in the top section of the air filter. How it got over the top of the radiator is beyond me. Luckily, my head is still attached. The engine is a TY-290 on a model 200 Jinma.
A new blade was ordered. It turned out to be genuine plastic and I wonder how long it will be before part of it will be in outer space.
Bob Rooks could do us a favor by giving us some more insight into the “pusher fan” mentioned in his posting. ie: description, mounting, where one can be found, cost, etc. I presume that this has an electric motor.
Thanks. Ward Boote a/k/a “bootlegger” near Wyalusing, PA in the Heart of the Endless Mountains.

Hi Bootlegger, welcome!
Pusher fans are optional equipment on some of the medium sized and larger earth moving and ag machines where very dusty operating conditions exist, but I doubt they have made their way to the compact and sub-compact level as an OEM options.
There are many aftermarket electric fans available as pusher/puller models.

Was curious about the Pusher fans and found the Flex lite site. If anyone went that route, I would make sure the CFM is enough and amp draw is not too much. 7+ amps on a 15amp alterator.

funny I had to type the link in, would not copy paste…….

If you want to go this route the Wrecking yard can be your friend, just about every car made in the last twenty years has at least one.

Thanks, and I forgot to mention that you can't make a pusher fan just by turning the fan around. That won't work.
