I was mowing sunday all was going ok ,tractor ran for about 1 hour.I noticed the power going away and then it stalled. the first thing I checked was the oil in the inj.pump it was ok. I then pulled off the bango bolt on the manual priming pump, no fuel but there was a cone shaped filter screen inside the bango bolt, plugged up.Did I miss something I do not remember a thread on this,I remember reading that there is one inside the tank that can cause a lean condition. If I have a filter there is there one in the tank too? Why is the screw on filter on the outlet side of the manual pump ? Maybe easier priming.Seems with the canister filter volume and I would assume better filtering capacity than that screen, should'nt it be the first fuel connection from the tank be to that canister filter?

these are inexpensive machines and their primary fuel filtering is wanting.the spinon filter is the secondary filter,it's right where it's supposed to be.you should have a screen in your sediment bowl that also acts as a primary filter.clean and leave the screen in the lift pump banjo bolt.you can add a better primary fuel filter if you want to.

I know I did not mention it does not have a sediment bowl there is not much clearence where the fuel outlet is.I think that is why no bowl, just a turn off valve.what do you think of adding a medium size clear in line filter.I sure would like to have a visual point to check the fuel.Oh I did not also mention this is on the 2005 dong feng le204.

David we have the original fuel bowl assemblies in stock. I know you said you may have a clearance problem but I would be glad to measure the bowl against your measurements to see if it would fit. We would also have to measure the hole in the fuel tank to make sure it is the correct size and pitch.

I think I will have to use a inline bowl if I can find one there is less that one inch to the side and the same below the shut off valve.I think I can find a suitable place on the side of the engine it would be nice to have a glass bowl instead of plastic,it is only a 20 hp so gph is low any ideas?

well I was mowing again and ran out of fuel with a full tank .Ran a wire up thru the cut off valve and disloged whatever was restricting the flow of diesel.Drained the tank went to the store found a screen 6mmx1mm thread, tapped the topside of the valve placed the screen hope this takes care of the it, appears to be paint chips in the fuel tank.Guess this is going to have to do really do not have a good place for a strainer bowl, but hopefully this will keep the valve from getting plugged.
