Hi!
I got my Jinma 244e from China some days ago. I see in owners manual to fill lubrication oil in fuelpump. I find the drain plug but not the level plug.
It is a hole in the pump, like for a dipstick and it is open.
Anyone know about this. -

I have a JM284, with the Laidong KM385 engine. On mine, I have to fill the oil for the injector pump, thru the dipstick opening. It's a long annoying process, but I know of no other way. There should be a dipstick for that hole, only a couple of inches long.

Thank you. Just what I need to know.
I guess you can fill in breather on top of pump. -

Never tried that, and it's too durned cold to go out now and see if that is possible, lol

On mine the breather just unscrews with fingers and I add oil there.

Right, but my pump do not look the same.
The level plug is not open and it is a hole for dipstick.
I try to find out how much oil I need so I can make a temporary dipstick.
No Jinma dealer in Norway and take some days to get one from China. -

Mine has a vent cap, and the plastic cover will revolve around endlessly, but never un-screws. Looks similar to the one posted but slightly different.

I am not saying your is like mine but my foton ft504a has a dipstick on the injector pump and its lubed off the engine oil pressure. There is a oil feed that comes off behind the oil filter and runs to the pump, then it dumps into the block at the front of the engine.

The Jinma's don't run off oil from the engine, just the Futons. A friend who helped with the crate assembly on my 284 thought the pump looked like a copy of a Bosch used by Mercedes in the Sixties.

The plastic cap you can bend off.
Right that Mercedes had this untill 1972 I think, but the breather was red and easy to see and I think it was marked for oil. -

Janb,
Can you post a picture?
If not, perhaps we can figure out your injector from the picture that I posted above.
- Do you have the hole on top? (On mine it has a vent cap. On some it has a dipstick or cap.)
- Do you have the 2 drain plugs at the bottom?
I don't have a dipstick and have never missed it.
The refill process is to open the 2 bottom drain holes so the oil is drained from the internal forward and rear chambers.
Put the drain plugs back in and SLOWLY fill with oil. It will only go in slowly without overflowing.
When the oil begins to drip out of the fitting in the left of the picture, it is full. (On mine you can see a small tube just under the bolt. On some I believe that that the bolt needs to be removed to allow the oil dripping to indicate a full condition.)
Since the oil moves so slowly through the system, I then let mine sit for several hours until that dripping oil stops completely (since you do not want the system too full of oil).

I did try to get a picture inn, but did somthing wrong.
I have only one outlet under the pump. A breather on top and a hole for dipstick. One nut seams to be the level, but when I fill oil it comes out of the dipstick hole and not at the one I am thinking is for the level.
Make me not sure if I fill too much.
I look at picture at Circle G Tractor Sales and the pump for KM385 was the same as mine and it had a dipstick.

Well if nothing else Circle G should be able to give you specs on that dipstick to make your own.

If I can find my Micrometer and the batteries are still good I check mine and give you the specs.

That would be very good.

janb,
I think that you are trying to fill it too fast. The oil has to go in very slowly or it just comes right back out. I have to use a large syringe type of device so I don't try to get too much in at one time.

I must be losing my mind Jan. I thought it had a dipstick, it does not. I personally did not fill it, a friend did that part, and he remembers removing a bolt (like Ron's picture) and filling it like that.

It is ok. I got information from China today. Fill 2 dl and they will send dipstick by air. I will have it here about one week. 10C below here now so I just hope for warmer weather before I start up.
Thank you. -

janb.
One more thought – when it is that cold, I suggest that you get the oil up to room temperature before trying to put it in that injector pump. I can't stress enough the need to fill it slowly.
