  Changing out a turbocharger on a 16-710 EMD engine. New ones are $35k, rebuilt is $25k.

  Yikes…that's one big engine. Is this engine in a large boat or train?

  Correct on both counts. It's a 16 cylinder 4,000 HP engine that drives a 3mW 4,160 volt alternator. They are train engines that are in a 460' boat, and there are four of them.
