Fix one problem get another. Now when key in ignition on position all gauges on dash are fluttering near the bottom of their range. Battery light is on and voltmeter I added long ago reads just under 12.8 with engine off, and 14 running. So no fuel gauge reading, no tach reading, no oil pressure reading. Checked all fuses, all good. Do not have my book/manuals with me at this moment. I cannot see a problem or even a place to look. Hope someone can help.
        thanks

          Check the grounds.

It is the one thing they all have in common. If the power to all those gauges is consistent, it makes sense that there is a bad ground.

Second most likely problem is the key switch itself. Use a jumper wire to go from the hot to the run terminals on the back. That will by-pass the contacts inside the switch.

Let us know what you find.

Did the bypass forgot to mention any idea where the common ground might be.

So go out to clean up my tools etc… flip the switch and voila everything is fine. A gremlin lurks about and yes most likely a ground.

while it is running you might want to stick your hand under the dash and move the wires  around some to see if there is needles on the gauges start jumping around. yes most likely a ground but it could be a resistance problem on the hot side.
