Hello everyone
Well I have 500watt flood lights the cheap home cheapo ones 115v. I was at my electrical sulppy house and they are pushing the LEDs well the 500watts are good but when ur working out side at night and you have about 10 of the
On for a few hours it isn’t cheap. I was picking parts up at the sulppay house for an cust and thought to my self why not then I asked for the price even with my discounts it’s still 700 bucks for a 1000watt led and around here that’s my going rate I guess.
But they had 3000watt for 1000 bucks and well while I’m sure that my neighbors might see them from a mile away if I get some 3000w ones I will need may e 3or 4
What I’m trying to get at does anyone know where to get them cheaper been googling them and the 3000 are going for 1900-2300 trying to sve a few bucks I don’t have
Thank you in advanced for any infoSorry know last time you guys didn’t like my spelling and grammar but I am dyslexic very dyslexic but I can fix the hell out of any hvac unit and am a wiring genius haven’t ran into anything that could stop me yet lol so that makes me feel good for not being able to read lol

I don't quite understand what you are attempting to do. Are you mounting these lights on a tractor? The lumenaires you are describing are used for street lighting.
Something else I don't understand: “trying to sve a few bucks I don't have”. In other words, you can't afford to do what you want to do?
LED technology changes rapidly, and prices are coming down, albeit at a much slower rate, so hang in there. If you were a lighting distributor you could get them wholesale, which means you could only knock about 35% off of those prices. I work for a state agency and we pay the going retail price, less volume discounts, so I doubt you will find what you're looking for at a cheaper price.
To my knowledge, a 3kW LED luminaire does not exist in the free world so maybe you're thinking of color temperature, which would be 3,000 kelvin (k), about the color of a bright sunset. 4,000k would be the color of the sun on a clear day at about 4:00PM, 5,100k at about high noon.

hello Bob
I saw them the label 3000watts they are street lights or parking lights I asked my guy and he said they are the same as 3000 watts and are the bright white light I would like to use them for lighting my yard and drive way I do alot of work most of it at night or morning
Cost I just can’t see spending that much on lights dropping about 5-6000 on lights but if i have to i woild would be crazy in my mind but they would last alot longer then the old 500w I got and save me on my bill(would see the return in the bill maybe in 6years) but would light up my part of yard and field so I can see my kids and dogs and keep working at crazy hours also when my guys pick up parts in the am they will beable to see alot better and make them feel a litter safer (they saw a 500 pound bear and been little girls)
I will Stop by the parts store and get the name of them and take a pic of them with the phone and post on here
Like I said I’m an hvac guy that means you know hell of alot me about lighting seeing what you do bob lol
And thank you for the reply and help -

You're gonna need 220VAC for those lights!!! And LED or not, you won't need a space heater for your back yard anymore. Street lights aren't even close to that wattage. My guess, (if they really are 3000W) these are used for stadium lighting.
I think bob is probably “spot” on (pun intended). More likely the 3000 number they quoted is the color temperature.

I have 12 watt LED flood-lamps that replace a 75 watt incandescent. What would a 3,000 watt LED replace?.
And you're spot on Bob. I use a 5300k color matching light when matching paint, equal to noon at the equator. It's amazing how far florescent lights will throw a color off, and if the sun's not out it's the only way to check metallics and pearls.

Here is a typical LED replacement for sodium and mercury vapor bulbs, and it is only rated at 54 watts. The highest wattage output single LED I have seen so far is 5 watts, but typically they are rated at one watt each, so a 54 watt lamp would have 54 LED's, but that's not how LED lamps are rated for light magnitude anyway.
