I need some caps/plugs to fit the existing hydraulics on the little dozer.  I know the hoses and fittings are called ORFS or o ring face fitting. I thought they were metric but measure to be 11/16 x 16 which is a commom ORFS size, it’s either that or a 17mm size which is odd because charts list 16 or 18mm for metric hyd fittings. So does anyone know what the size it really is?

Chuck, I have never been able to source a hydraulic fitting to suit ANY hose on my dozer. When I have to repair something I take the whole lot to Pirtek and they braze or weld on standard fittings to get me going again. Welcome to the world of Chinese standard threads.  Good luck!

Thanks, that’s the answer I didn’t want to hear but knew it would would probably be the one I got, guess I will have to plan on a diy for everything related to the dozer.

There are a lot more fittings available than most local hydraulic shops carry or have ever encountered.

Here are a couple of sources I use to figure out fittings for my Jinma 284 tractor.

These both have good graphics and measurements for you to compare to.

Check with your local Caterpillar dealer. If they don’t have the caps and plugs you need, they may be able to get them. Cat uses a lot of ORFS hoses.
