I recently, unknownly, poured hydraulic fluid into my system that was badly contaminated with water, now I need to totally drain the system. The tractor is a Foton 704, so my dumb question of the day is: other than the motor oil in the motor, is the hydraulic fluid the only only fluid, I realize fuel and water of course. Last question is what all do I need to take loose to drain the hydraulic system.

How did that happen?? Usually when anyone adds make up oil to anything it is new and fresh. Did you get a bad batch from your supplier? WOW!

You are going to have to change and flush the hydraulic system and install new fresh oil. Seafoam products used to make a hydraulic oil dessicant for removing water but I don't see it anywhere. Another option is to have an oil polisher come out and service your system.

i had a five gallon container that was probably 3years old. Started pouring the oil in and it looked fine–water was, of cour se, in the bottom. Live and learn!
