I tried to do a simple text post in the “blacked out appearance” thread and for me it scrambled the menus in with my post.

I saw that. Strange.
I think the crankshaft is gone too!
I'll be using TBN as backup now, CTOA has become unpredictable.

Geesh, some of you have no patience anymore. 🙁 It should be corrected now. I was trying to make it display for most bowsers, but those using older version of IE need to upgrade. It is strongly recommend.
Please let me know if the BLACKOUT is gone !!!

I never had it, but if I do I'll let you know. When others reported a blackout I suspect that's when the sidebars had what I'd describe as a light olive/gray color that blended in with the center. I liked that look actually. It was definitely light enough that it looked like it was like that on purpose, and the rounded off stuff was never square for me.

As I said, I've not had any issues using Firefox.
That said, I do understand that you're trying to get some fine tuning done on the site Hal, and that always means there may be temporary glitches when something you try doesn't work out the way you expect. The fact that web browsers (and there are a bunch of different ones) change the way they work almost as often as I change underwear can't make it easy for a web designer, either. And the few dudes who can do it really, really well charge an arm and a leg, I know.
One guy I know who hosts/manages websites always has a mirror of each site that he can do the tweaking on first and then copy it over the real thing when he has the bugs worked out. I have absolutely NO idea how much effort that stuff all is, as I don't know diddly squat about website design or management. I'm just passing along something I heard him say once.
Best of luck with it, Hal! I'd long ago have thrown up my hands in disgust and walked away from the whole thing. You are far more patient than I am.

It appears to be gone now, at least from my remote location on tether.
Nothing here was ever “rounded”.

Bob, on Firefox anyway every corner of every rectangle on this site is rounded off. I'll check what it looks like with IE8 when I get home.I have had so many attacks here at work, one took out windows completely, another took me three days to get back to usable, that I won't run IE here for even a second.

WOW! Sorry to hear that, but to me it doesn't seem necessary to use another browser just to view one website when all others work well with IE-8.
All is better now Hal.

The attacks I have got here at work appear to becoming from outside the US. I update my antivirus and malware daily and have all firewall settings on max, a few got through and were brand new crap. With everything I can possibly do they came through when on IE8. So far nothing has got through on Firefox, knock on wood.

Umm I made the corners all SQUARE for now for those with older IE. However, I am adding a special box to help those with older browsers realize it and tyring to upgrade. I recommend FIREFOX over IE but try to keep both for visual comparisons.

Well, if we're down to working on square corners versus radiused corners, then I think things are in pretty good shape! Either that, or we're straining at a gnat while trying to pass a camel…
Keep up the good work, Hal!

I gave up using Internet Explorer when they came out with IE8. It screwed everything up so much I had to have a tech friend help me out and I went to google chrome and Firefox. I use google 99% of the time and it works without flaw.
Thank you Hal for getting the site back up and running.
