Is this filler for the steering gear box? |

  I just got this Hercules Model 2224 tractor/loader. This is my first tractor. Is this a picture of the filler for the steering gear box? What kind of fluid does the it take? This filler is behind the radiator.

  I have two Chinese tractors the 50 hp foton has its own pump and fluid reservoir for the power steering. The dong feng runs off a common sump that has the three point lift and power steering and a loader if it was equipped .So you need to figure out what you have. But to me that looks like the engine oil fill.

  David is correct. That is the engine oil fill.
  
  Hercules is actually a Benye. Do you have an owners manual?

  This information sounds like it may be useful for you as our manual has pictures of knobs, levers and caps and it was originally written in English so its quite easy to read.
