Hi
I recently bought a Jinma 244E as crate delivery. All seems work fine and at this point satisfied.
I was in the believe that the hydraulic fluid circuit was separated from the gear box on this model but seems it share oil. This is no problem but I got a bit confused on the oil “dip sticks”. The stick intended for the hydraulic sump behind the seat is “very short”. I can not imagine it would be possible to have a oil level in the lifter sump that gets to the stick.
When filling the system as per the amounts advised in the manual the stick is dry. The gear box stick on the other hand is above the indicated level on that stick,
Anyone have some input on this? All works fine and I have similar amount of oil in the system as when delivered (similar as also in manual). All fluids changed.

I'm not sure what you have, where are you? They don't sell a 244 in the states.

do you have a dip stick in the tranny with two marks on it? the higher one is for a tractor with a loader and the lower one is for one without. can you tell where the fluid to the power steering comes from? that might give you a clue if it is a common sump tractor. it might be a thing to do is get a rod and insert it into the plug behind the seat and see how deep it is and where you start getting oil on it.

Hi,
Located in Finland. Bought it directly from CN in crate delivery.
I need to double check regarding the dip stick in the gear box. It should have two markings but they were close to each other.
The power steering has separate circuit/pump and have a small oil filling unit in front of the cooler.
I have tried with some rod to find the oil level in the hydraulic sump behind the seat. The strange thing is the very short dip stick located there. I am sure the system is sharing oil between gear box and hydraulic system. This I realized when I first thought there was too low oil level in hyde sump. I filled and level did not go up…instead it went into gear box
So I am basically wondering if simply just should look on the stick in the gearbox and forget the strange short stick in the hydraulic sump. Is that the way the setup is for other Jinmas that have the common sump?
I believe that thera have been both common sump and separate oil system for the inna244E but I do not know.

you might try to see if there is a drain plug below the plug behind the seat if there is pull the drain plug and see is the gear box level changes. I have a 2006 foton ft 504a and it might be set up like yours with a separate tank for the power steering. the gear box uses 90 wt. gear oil ,then a reservoir behind the seat for the hydro lift and aux. outlets.I use aw 32 in it. on mine also the fill plug behind the seat is a vent for the hydro. system. but your easily could be different. and on the dip stick on the trans. there is not much space in between the marks around 3/4 inch. but if you have two marks on the stick that would suggest that it is common sump. good luck

I have the Jinma 284. Hydraulic and gear oil are in separate compartments.Look at the back of the tractor to see if you have a drain plug as shown in photo below.

I thought you may be in Europe. As I said the 244 is not sold here in the US. All Jinma's here have separate 85/90 wt. gear oil for the transmission and axles and a separate sump under the seat for the (AW32/46 fluid) hydraulics. I remember a post a few years ago from a fellow in Germany that had issues such as yours, and his was a common sump system with a model number not sold here. I wish I could remember what his fix turned out to be.

Now that I think about it I believe he had to run a pipe from the transmission back to the sump or something like that, anyone else here with a better memory?

Sorry late reply here.
The 244E I have has common sump. As I have looked on pictures I believe that most parts are same as for the 284. I assume the two marks on the dip stick in the gear box then probably indicate the level of oil in the complete system.
I assume the other stick at the vent hole in the Hydraulic sump is used when you run the separate system like you have on the 284
So there is some kind of channel between the hydr sump and gearbox. The intake for oil to pump is probably in different position then on the 284 I assume. The filter for “hyde fluid” is located on the right side of the tractor (below the break pedal). On the 284 there seems to be a filter inside the hydraulic sump. This is not the case on the 244E I have.
There is no problem with the tractor I am just curious how to understand what oil levels there should be

the dipstick looks much like the one on my 2005 204a lenar( dong feng) ,I was told by the importer/distrubtor(since out of business)the upper one is for the level if there is a fel the lower is for without.

OK I will go on that, Thanks. I have FEL and currently have a bit more oil in than the upper level. Assume it probably is not a big issue to have a bit more than the upper level show.

I do not know exactly but it depending on how much over, it might put your standing oil level over a seal which is not designed to have standing oil on it so it might leak.
