I have a used 2007 JM284 with 100 hrs on it, recently it began grinding gears when shifting right after startup. I did some inspection of the clutch pedal and linkage and found the remains of a bolt and nut where the clutch arm slides over a shaft protruding out of the tractor. I was able to replace the bolt but the shaft does not move even the slightest.

See photos at link below…any help would be greatly appreciated.

Give us a picture that shows where you re-installed the bolt.

Most of the time that s a roll pin, did somebody replace it wth a bolt ? Are you the oringinal owner ? That shaft and arm should turn together when you push the clutch in, if it's not you have some other problems with the clutch that need to be addressed
