Rookie operator here…checked the direction of flow on backhoe pump before hookup, by putting a clear tubing filled with fluid, on the outlet ports of the pump. Had to cross the lines to hook up correctly (suction side = large hose). See Image #1

After pressurization, hydraulic fluid is flowing (rapidly) out of the circled area in Image #2 (could someone tell me what this pipe’s name and function is)? I’m assuming it’s some sort of overflow valve.

Valve under the seat is completely screwed down tight. Tractor never had this leak, until I hooked up the hoe. Is it possible, that pressure is getting by the seal on the accessory 3 point shaft, and building up in the tractor distributor?

        Thanks in advance !

            What tractor do you have?

It would appear that there is a breather on the end of that steel line. It also appears that the steel line is a return to the tank. The question is what tank?

I would highly suspect a blown seal on the backhoe pump as the backhoe has a separate hydraulic system and that fluid should never be introduced to the tractor side of things.

Yep, what Piper said. You have deadheaded the hoe’s pump and blown the seal. Check the hoe’s hydraulic reservoir and you’ll see the level down, if not empty. You should double check the suction and discharge porting on the pump against the rotation – looking into the pump ports the suction side will have the gears coming apart, discharge side will have the gears coming together. You will have to buy a new seal now.

But you are correct about the hose sizes – big = suction, little = discharge.

Bob how much should a 2 piece shaft stop collar be undersized vs. the shaft it is going on?.005-.010? I need it for a secondary lateral movement stop. The existing gear with set screws keeps loosing up, I have blue locktite them now but want further movement support. I really do not want to weld it in place.

Piper, it’s a Jinma 554 (per thread title)

What you and Bob said makes sense, I’ll try to find a seal for the pump. I’ll check the Backhoe Reservoir tonight. I appreciate the responses.
