My hydraulic steering ball joint locknut came loose and the adjustment ball joint it secured unscrewed and fell off.
I reinstalled it and screwed the threads into the hydraulic steering ram about half way and tightened the locknut. Some here on this forum said the adjustment only controlled steering in one direction. I cannot confirm this but the adjustment I set it at allows wheels to rotate to the stops.
My steering toe-in has never been adjusted. The tractor has 1425 hours on it. When I checked the toe-in it was 1.5 inches out of specification.
Lifted wheels using my FEL. Tried to turn tie rod after loosening locknuts.
It was frozen solid. Heated each end with propane torch then saturating with WD. Three cycles of this and the bar finally broke free. Later I realized the tie-rod is hollow. I could have just drilled a small hole in the top and filled it with WD while driving/working it to yield the same result.
Once ball joint adjustment ends we’re free to turn I removed the entire tie-rod. Unscrewed both ball joint adjustment ends and cleaned and grease ends. Remember, the right ball joint(as seated on the tractor)is reverse thread. The left ball joint threading is standard.
Reinstalled refurbished tie-rod and made my adjustments.
I found replacement dust covers here.

Unfortunately CTOA limits photo uploading to 1000kb. If a picture is worth a thousand words why limit it?

just courious but did you have any strange front tire wear ? I would think even on dirt 1.5 inch out would do something wear wise. On pavement it would pull like crazy I would think.

I cannot see any wear. If my photos could have been downloaded you could see for your self. I have written management about increasing file size.

Was able to download photos by sending them to my Gmail. Gmail then gives you the option of size/data. I chose size smaller than 1000kb.
Then I transferred photos from my Gmail to a file on my IPhone. When I downloaded to CTOA it gave me a choice to select photo from album or file. The photos uploaded because they were smaller than 1000kb.
Lots of work. -

Sounds like you have a good repair going.
Wheel alignment on tractors is not all that critical compared to a highway vehicle. I once bent the tie rod so badly that it pushed the toe out so badly that it was visible from the tractor seat. Still drove fine. Went back to shop, removed tie rod and straightened it in the press then put it all back together. Been fine for several years. I do occasionally wear out the OEM ends. Maybe next time I will just replace the whole setup with something domestic.
FYI: There are lots of apps that let you resize photos on your phone.
