I have a Jinma 354 (2007). About a month ago when I started it, the engine began racing – felt like rpms were going off the charts. I immediately shut it off. When I tried to restart, everything worked as it should. I had the same problem the other day – engine went to full rpm's as soon as I started it. Again, I shut it off, only this time it won't start at all. I get a small amount of smoke from the exhaust, but no evidence of the engine firing. Any ideas or help ?

If throttle is not stuck somewhere I gotta hunch. Is it overfull on engine oil?

Did you ever figure out your poblem your tractor with runaway rpms? I have exactly same problem. But my fuel shut off would not kill the engine. It just kep Maxing rpms out. I thought it was going to blow up. Petcock would not shut off fuel either. Finally pulled the fuel line off of the pump. It finally died after starving for fuel. Starts right up. But im afraid to give it much throttle out of fear of this happening again. What was your solution?

Hi, throttle isn't stuck and no change in engine oil. Looks more like a fuel injector or governor problem, just looking for similar situations.
Thanks for input !

When is the last time you drained, flushed, and refilled the fuel injection pump/governor assembly? The governor is not responding to speed changes. You have to remember that there is no direct mechanical linkage between the fuel rack and the throttle control.

We have had engines do that before and one of the ( piston discs was stuck or broken inside the injector pump. These injector pumps are calibrated so do not try to take it apart, you can have a fuel injection service rebuild the pump or just replace it.I have found that a new Injector pump is less cost than rebuilding your existing pump
I have the new pumps if you have to get one
