        Greetings
Have a 2003 JW03 backhoe with prince valves attached to a JM-284XR Jinma LOL!. So anyway there I was digging up yet another tree. and I noticed my boom cylinder was free falling! (DANG it) Anyway looked for leaks none that I can see so my question is: Is it the internal seals that are blown??? And if so anyone know a good source for parts? Thanks..

I don’t see what else it could be, you’ll have to take it apart to confirm. I would call or email any of the dealers that sell these. Keno does, not sure if Tommy at Affordable does but he’d sure be good for technical info at least.

I have these kits in stock, and if you have any other questions you could also talk to George out in the shop.  He is very knowledgeable on these tractors, has worked on them for about 10 years.

I had that very same issue with my LW-6 boom cylinder – twice, and the swing and stick cylinders once. What happens is that the piston cup seals blow and leak by. The OEM seals are something like rubber or neoprene, and didn’t like the synthetic hydraulic oil I was using at the time. I was finally able to get an aftermarket kit from Tommy that had polyurethane cup seals in it. That is what you want.

If you can get a kit from Tommy you should be in good shape. I had issues with the cylinders on my FEL ZL30. The Cylinders looked the same outside but had different pistons so I went to Hercules Sealing in Clearwater, FL. Sent them the old seals and the made me several new seal sets with high performance urethane. After I rebuilt the cylinders I can raise the FEL and it will stay up forever. When I had new factory cylinders they would sink within a day. I also have a LW-7 and have to rebuild the cylinders when I get chance. I put a Prince pump on for more power and use, but all the cylinder seals leak. If I raise the boom it does not hold for any period of time. If your kits work out let me know. I wouldn’t use the original Chinese seals. BTW I use O ‘Riley AW 32-46-68 Hydraulic oil and have good results.
