Was changing out all the fluids on my Jinma tractor today and when I got to the spin on fuel filter it would not move…I should tell you it’s never been off the engine. The tractor is a 2006. I sprayed it down with some Kroil and acetone and atf (50×50 mix) and let it set….grabbed it near the top on the ridge with my big channel locks and it won’t budge. I even tried my small belt wrench..still won’t move. The whole housing is twisting a little and I don’t want to break it. I’m just looking for some ideas to try. It runs just fine and starts right up…do I dare just leave it on there…. although it’s against my better judgment to do that ..Thanks

With a hammer and flat faced punch, tap downward hard on and around the outside edge a few times, then try to unscrew it again.

Let me know if this works for you because there is another method also. This one is the easiest.

Hopefully you won’t find any rust inside.

Hi Bob….I got it loose…I did what you said to try and then got on it with an oil filter wrench that slides up from the bottom and clamps tight on it…it still took some pretty good force to get it to move…I think I bent the bracket a little bit…but everything looks ok…Thanks for the help…

Good news. Be sure to swipe a film of fuel around the neoprene gasket before you install it as that will make it much easier to get off next time. And be sure not to over tighten. :good:
