Finally hit enough limbs while mowing to break my muffler off the tractor. I found this muffler on ebay.
It’s made by Iveco and is apparently rated for diesels up to 125HP and has a built in flapper, need to put a can over the pipe when storing the tractor in the weather. For $25.00 buy it now price and $15 shipping thought it was a good deal.
I had to make an adapter since the stock exhaust pipe is smaller than the new muffler 2.5″. Here is what it took to make it:
1.You need the old muffler flange that bolts the muffler to the exhaust manifold extension. I cut the flange off with about an inch of stock pipe left on it.
2. 11” of 2in exhaust pipe from autozone
3. about 3” of 2in rigid conduit from Lowes
I basically welded the 2”x11” exhaust pipe to the old flange after dropping it over the old pipe. Then I welded the 2”x3” rigid conduit flush with the end of the exhaust pipe. I painted it with some 2000F paint and that was it. Here is what it looks like when finished.
The muffler came with a clamp for the joint where the muffler meets the exhaust pipe. So once the adapter was bolted on it was simple to drop the muffler on. The new muffler is about 10lbs heavier than stock so I added a brace to help support the weight and to keep the limbs from breaking it again. All in all cost was about $60 and about 2hrs labor.
Think I have a better than stock muffler with the flapper and the muffler actually seems to make the tractor a little quieter, plus I think it will take more than a 2” limb to knock the muffler off now. There were 5 more of these mufflers left on ebay when after I bought mine if anyone needs one.

Nice find
Looks like a solid installation. Now you'll have to watch out for falling limbs.

Put it on my Farmpro 2430, 30hp. Ebay add said it was rated to 125hp. Seems to be well built at least compared to the stock muffler.

It would be assumed it was a good product as Iveco is a sub company of Mercedes Benz. If more are needed than the five listed, then you could try looking in that direction. Having worked on both Iveco and Mercedes trucks, I found them to be pretty good. Although I'm still partial to Kenworths and Peterbuilts.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but I worked for PACCAR Truck R & D and was surprised to find how few of their own parts Pete and KW actually made. It may be different now, but at that time almost everything came “off the shelf” except the cabs and wiring harnesses.

Still mostly true Bob. Although they are using more of their parts nowdays. But they are easier to work on. You can't really find any piece of equipment nowdays that use “their parts” exclusively.
Even a Harley Davidson uses Japanese parts… go figure
