        PROBLEM:  Inexperienced operator.
SOLUTION:  Installed inclinometer from R&B Manufacturing, INC.

PROBEM:  Have to remove four bolts to check oil level.
SOLUTION:  Used jamb nuts on bottom screen bolts and slotted screen to fit over these bolts. Used two mini toggle clamps to hold top of screen for easy removal.

PROBLEM: Oil filter too exposed; Concerned about loss of oil pressure.
SOLUTION: Installed VW low pressure switch in gauge oil line and circuit to light a lamp and sound a buzzer.

        PROBLEM:  No hydraulic filter.
SOLUTION:  Added hydraulic filter to return line.

PROBLEM:  Starter will not engage, also known as “clickies”
SOLUTION:  Added secondary solenoid so only the power required to operate this solenoid goes thru OEM wiring. Wired starter solenoid to secondary solenoid with new 10 gauge wire.  Installed welding lead from end of battery negative cable to bolt near starter. “Cilickies” much improved but not eliminated. May replace battery cables in future.

        PROBLEM:  Sway chains keep breaking.
SOLUTION:  Flipped bracket holding sway chains to dozer casting. Cut off sway chain bolt and installed 3 1/2″ – 5/8″ grade 8 bolt in last link then jamb nut. 5/8″ bolts allow  the chain link to slide up the bolt when 3 point raised.

PROBLEM:  Tilt cylinder too hard to control.
SOLUTION:  Added appox. 0.04″ copper disk with 1/16″ hole to act as hydraulic restrictor. Works great and my thanks to Bob Rooks for his help in this and many other problems.

PROBLEM:  Prefilter screen cannot be checked or cleaned without draining fuel tank.
SOLUTION:  Removed this screen and the screen in the banjo bolt below the primer pump. Will add a Racor 025-RAC-02 filter/water separator to the tubing after the sediment bowl using rubber hose, hose barbs and clamps. Pump is on order from TDS warehouse. My thanks again to Bob Rooks.
