The machine was running good but died and will not restart. Fuel coming out of filter, no fuel to any injectors. Turning over the engine with starter I have fuel at one of the air bleed fittings, but not the other. The owners manual lists governor spring possibly broken, where would I find this on the machine? Am I looking at possible injection pump failure?
check the fuel shut off and make sure that it is free, what I am referring to is on the injector pump , it turns on and off the fuel to the engine for stop and start. There will be a rod or a cable to it that goes to the dash , I do not believe there is a electric relay for these machines. Bob the dozer expert left this forum.
David, thanks for the reply. The shut off at the pump is actuated by a cable, all appears to operate okay on the outside of the pump. The symptoms are if the shut off was in the shut down mode, fuel to the injector pump, no fuel out.
so if you use the manual hand pump with the fuel line cracked at the pump you get diesel where you opened the system right? I believe that most of these injector pumps have the governors on the back end of the pump. Maybe do a search on the make and model of the pump you never know you might find a parts breakdown , I think most of these pumps are bosch clones. Someone just did a governor on a wheeled tractor (on this ctoa forum ) and he said there were balls in his and it ran in air ( not oil lubed) it had rust in the housing ,he cleaned and greased and that let the governor work which let the fuel plate work again. I hope I remembered this correctly.
