I AM A NEW MEMBER AND NOT SURE IF I AM DOING THIS RIGHT , BUT HERE GOES.
I HAVE A JINMA 284 TRACTOR. I HAVE NOT HAD PROBLEMS IN THE PAST, BUT AFTER STARTING MY TRACTOR THIS SPRING I FOUND A SUBSTANTIAL OIL LEAK. iT LOOKS LIKE IT IS COMING OUT BETWEEN THE MOTOR AND BELLHOUSING ON THE RIGHT SIDE, DIRECTLY ACROSS FROM THE OIL SENDING UNIT. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY THOUGHTS AS TO WHERE IT MIGHT BE COMING FROM?

Most of the time when this happens is because the bolts that secure the flywheel housing to the engine have come loose and the rear main oil seal starts leaking. In order to repair this leak you must Split the tractor, remove the flywheel retighten or replace those bolts with new and locktite

Here’s a telling of my issues with this same problem: Jinma Oil Leak
You may have to joint he site to view it, but it is free. My tractor is a Jinma 304 and I had the same problem as you and solved it with a bit of help from Tommy. I learned a few tricks in doing it that I’ve detailed on that posting, so it should be worth your time to read it all. I did solve the problem completely for only a few bucks in gaskets and a good bit of hard labor.

It appears that I will have to split my Jinma 284 in two and remove the flywheel. Does anyone have any tips, instructions or suggestions on how to go about this. Thanks.

Tommy
When I Split the tractor and rebolt the bell housing, do I have to replace the rear main seal? If I wanted to change it, do I have to drop the crank or can i just remove the seal and replace it. Thanks

The seal is in the flywheel housing, once you remove that housing you will see the seal.
