Previously I had a problem with both clutches on My Jinma 284. I first checked adjustment on both clutches. They were fine. I realized that i was not getting a good `throw`on the throwout bearing and split the tractor as I thought it was an internal problem. finding no problem in the transmission I found the far easier problem was a clutch linkage shear pin (external),and buttoned tractor back up.

After all that the clutch would not release for a few seconds after being depressed. I adjusted linkage as far as i felt safe and still the same issue. This does not happen all the time but quite often. Sometimes will not release at all. Its a bit of a pain shutting off, shifting and restarting in gear to save the grind but..

Anyone have any ideas, I have heard of clutches sticking to the flywheel after sitting for quite a while and rusting on but this is not the case as it will do it 10 seconds after releasing.

        Thanks.

It sounds like you bent the main clutch hub when stabbing the trans. into

the clutches. I use two long bolts in the engine to help align trans. shalf

and maintain the mating surfaces plane parallel by measuring around the

bellhousing to engine all the time while going together. If I am right you will

have to split tractor again, and replace main disk. http://www.ctoa.net/ctoa/wp-co…..eys/', 'vomit', '1');” src=”../../../ctoa/wp-content/forum-smileys/sick0020.gif” alt=”vomit” />Then have to do all the

clutch adjustments. I would recommend alignment tool!

They bent hub could be the problem, I have also seen the roll pin in the clutch fork break and cause these same problems.Sad to say you have to split the tractor again to find, fix either of these problems..

When you say youchecked the clutch adjustment and they were fine ? What is fine ?
